HOPE: He's Our Promise Eternal
Psalm 62:5 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."For God Alone, O my Soul, Wait In Silence, For my HOPE Is From Him."....
Only three days left in our current year (2016). It is hard to believe we're almost through this year, heading towards another New Year. Granted there is no guarantees in regards to our experiences in 2017. As we're witnessing even in these last few days of 2016, there remains on-going world-wide tensions, uncertainty and challenges to be faced. Personally, for each of us, there's circumstances which create both senses of Rejoicing and Sorrow.
As 2017 begins, I know at least in the Team Johnson history, there's always been an expectation of HOPE that each New Year will be better than the outgoing year. For us, 2016 has been both an exciting year, BUT a year also laced with sadness and family loss. 2016 has been a year filled with continuous change - a lot towards the positive, some neutral, some not so positive.
BUT (Behold the Underlying TRUTH) the Bottom-Line/Up-Front, our expectation of HOPE is Firmly Based on God The Father, His Son, our Lord Jesus and His Holy Spirit's Eternal PROMISE to us. Our FAITH in Him is well Defined from His Holy WORD as Recorded by the author of the letter to Hebrews (11:1 - ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."Now FAITH Is The Assurance Of Things HOPED For, The Conviction Of Things Not Seen."....
Team, Even in the darkest of nights, or the gravest of days, His WORD Proclaims His Eternal TRUTH and PROMISE to us.....
2 Peter 1:3-4 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...." His Divine Power Has Granted To us ALL Things That Pertain To LIFE And Godliness, THROUGH The Knowledge Of Him Who Called us To His Own Glory And Excellence, By Which He Has Granted To us His Precious And Very Great PROMISES, So That Through THEM you May Become Partakers Of The Divine Nature, Having Escaped from the corruption that is in the world Because of sinful desire."....
Indeed, HE's Our PROMISE Eternal....upon Him and Through Him All our HOPE Stands.
Now if 2 Peter 1:3-4 overwhelms you (as it has me at times), Praise God for He Is Ever Sensitive to us, His Creation, and our capacity to wrap our minds around His Concept(s).....His Holy Spirit Boils Down "His Precious And Very Great PROMISES" to....1 John 2:25 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."And This Is The PROMISE That He Made To us—Eternal LIFE."....
So, IF, as we Begin 2017, you, like me, are in Need of His WORD of Encouragement and HOPE, grab ahold of 2 Corinthians 1:20 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."For ALL The PROMISES Pf God Find Their YES In Him. THAT Is Why It Is THROUGH Him That we UTTER our AMEN To God For His Glory."....
Please join with me as I offer up a Paraphrase of Prayer and Praise for our overall PJP2 Prelude Prayer.....Psalm 33:1, 4, 6, 17-18, 20-22 (ESV/emphasis & paraphrase added/jaj)....O Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father God, we Join Together and Shout For Joy In Your Holy Name, O Lord. Lord Jesus, You, and You Alone Are Righteous! Praise Befits You, O Holy Spirit, for You and You Alone Are Upright In God's GRACE. Father God, Your WORD, O Lord Is Holy and Upright! Lord Jesus, we Praise You and Share That ALL Your WORK Is Done In Eternal Faithfulness. By Your WORD, O Lord. The very Heavens Were Made, And By The Breath of Your Mouth ALL The Heavenly Host. Lord Jesus, Help us To Share That Only In You is our HOPE Secure. Holy Spirit, Help us Teach Your TRUTH. May we Reflect that for us to place our trust in an earthly war horse IS a false hope For Salvation, and by man's own great might, there is NO HOPE of rescue. BEHOLD, Father God, You Have Consistently Revealed that Your Eye Is Ever On those who Faithfully Esteem, Adore, Respect Your and HOPE In Your Eternal Steadfast LOVE. O Lord Jesus, our Souls WAIT for You O Lord. Holy Spirit, Thank You, for You Are our HELP and our SHIELD. Father God, we Praise You, for our Hearts are Glad In You. Lord Jesus, in Worship And Praise we Lift Up Your Name, Because we TRUST in You, and our HOPE is Secure In Your Holy Name. Holy Spirit, Please Let Your Steadfast LOVE, O Lord, Ever Be Upon us. May we, Father God, Reflect Your GRACE, Even As we HOPE In You. In Your Precious Name, Lord Jesus, we Raise our Prayers and Praise....Amen and Amen....jaj
