PJP2 PROLOG POST - 160831 - PTL - Psalm 106:23, 30, 44-45, 48 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."Therefore HE Said HE Would destroy them— Had Not Moses, HIS Chosen one, Stood In The Breach Before HIM To Turn Away HIS Wrath from destroying them.....Then Phinehas Stood Up And Intervened, And the plague Was Stayed.....Nevertheless, HE Looked Upon their distress, When HE Heard their cry.  For their sake HE Remembered HIS covenant, And Relented According To The Abundance Of HIS Steadfast LOVE.  Blessed Be The Lord, The God of Israel, From Everlasting To Everlasting!  And Let ALL the people Say, “Amen!” Praise The Lord!"....

If you ever want a 'snap-shot' History Review of the Old Testament, Psalm 103 through 106, almost smack-in-the-middle of our Canonized WORD, you will find The Holy Spirit Sharing with us just that.

What I Hear The Holy Spirit pinging me about today is man's 'cycle of sin' in contrast to God The Father Remembering His Holy Promise and Covenant (even though as we see in Psalm 106, There's a Few Times The Lord's Ready to be done with us....can't at all blame HIM when you recognize how many times (then and now) we get caught in the downward spiral caused by the cycle of sin....

Yet, as we see here in Psalm 106, God's Plan of Redemption Always Provides for An Intercessor to Come Before Him on our Behalf, and Beg for God's Mercy on us.  In these POWS we see God Provided us with Moses and Phinehas, BUT, as you are well aware, there are MANY, MANY More we could list.

BUT here's the BLUF (Bottom-Line/Up-Front) - God's Ultimate Intervention and His Eternal Intercessor is none-other than His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.  So many POWS in HIS WORD Share HIS TRUTH on this.....Here's just one....

Romans 3:21-26 (ESV)...."But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus."

Ba-Baam!  There is No Greater Action of Intercession that this.  I assure you Team, He Stands Ready TODAY to Share His Ultimate Intercession towards us as well.

I am so Thankful our Lord REMEMBERS His Holy Promise!  Oh, Team, I am so sorry to confess that I have made promises that I know I have not kept.  Yet, By God's Grace, those who call me husband, father, brother, son, friend still Reflect God's Steadfast Love and Remind me That HE REMEMBERS HIS PROMISE.  In today's THANKS TEXT 160831 POWS (Psalm 105:40-43), I am also Thankful for His Sharing with us, via His Holy Spirit's Inspired WORD Recorded here that He Is Engaged in our every True Need (symbolized here by Daily Bread and Living Water, with a 'side-dish' of meat tossed in....and we Must Not forget....DELIVERANCE from our enslavement to sin).

GLORY - God's Love/Light Openly Revealed in Yeshua (Jesus)

The Holy Spirit Shared a 'Relevation' (a 'Relevation', for me, is an 'AH-HA' moment where a Concept The Spirit's trying to get through to me finally clicks in....jaj.....Not to be confused with John's Revelation....his Holy Vision....) with me this morning.  I have to admit the Concept of God's Glory has sometimes been a challenge for me to get my hands-around.  I mean anytime I had seen the mention of God's Glory, a POWS like Deuteronomy 5:22-24 would come to mind....

....Deuteronomy 5:22-24 (ESV)....“These words the Lord spoke to all your assembly at the mountain out of the midst of the fire, the cloud, and the thick darkness, with a loud voice; and he added no more. And he wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me. And as soon as you heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, you came near to me, all the heads of your tribes, and your elders. And you said, ‘Behold, the Lord our God has shown us his glory and greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire. This day we have seen God speak with man, and man still live."

I mean check out His WORD here....2 Chronicles 7:1-2 (ESV)...."As soon as Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord filled the Lord's house."

Or then we find something similar in The Life of our Lord Jesus....Matthew 17:2-8 (ESV)...."And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him. And Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.” He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” When the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and were terrified. But Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Rise, and have no fear.” And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only."

Ok, so, Team, Here's The 'Relevation' The Holy Spirit Shared with me this morning....I now am starting to understand God Shares His GLORY with us as just one more corroboration/validation/verification to us of His LOVE for us!

Bingo!

Granted, for Certain God's GLORY is much deeper and complex that I will ever come to grips with.  The above "Relevation" is just a snippet of how deep, broad, high and wide God's Glory really is.  So, for today, it's nice to know that God's Glory Is Shining Upon us as A Reflection of His LOVE for us.

May we, Lord Jesus, simply Bask In Your Light and Love AND Reflect Your Grace Towards us to All who Do Not Yet Know You as Lord and Savior.  That, Father God, would be my Prayer for us today.  Holy Spirit, Intercede for us and Raise Your Groans of Grace for us.  Lord Jesus, in Your Holy Name we Raise our Prayers......Amen and Amen....jaj

I am so Thankful for His Promise as we Find The Holy Spirit Sharing with us in Psalm 103:10-14.  How can one not be Encouraged by allowing His Grace and Compassion to surround us with His Truth?  Here it is, Team, in plain print - God The Father Removes our sin, our transgression as far from us as 'the East is from the West'.  I am also Thankful that He Knows me, He Knows us all, far better than we even know ourselves....And STILL, due to His Mercy, Grace and Steadfast LOVE - He deals with us In That State of Perfect Fatherly Love towards us, His wayward children.  That is indeed something to be Thankful For.

Team, when I read a POWS like Psalm 102:18, I Hear The Holy Spirit whisper, "Jeff, God The Father is Talking about you and your current compatriots.  THIS is 'the generation to come'."....

Wow - that's both exciting as well as frightening!

Then the question hits me - Are we the 'last generation'?  Is there one to follow behind us?

Again, though, The Holy Spirit presents His Compelling WORD for our consideration....

Matthew 24:42-44 (ESV) "Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

2 Peter 3:8-10 (ESV) "But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. I am always fascinated by how one WORD.....such as MERCY....can have so many meanings or inferences.  According to the Thesaurus, it lists 31 words that reflect a characteristic that links back to MERCY.

When you think about it, how often do we really need MERCY, but either we're too proud, or perhaps to frightened to ask for it?  Look at two blind me who had the gumption to seek out our Lord Jesus and ask....

Matthew 9:27-29 (ESV)...."And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying aloud, 'Have Mercy on us, Son of David.'  When He entered the house, the blind men came to Him, and Jesus Said to them, 'Do you Believe That I Am Able To Do This?'  They said to Him, 'Yes, Lord.'  Then He Touched their eyes, Saying, 'According to your Faith Be It Done To you.'”....

Wow.....What an Encouragement for us today.  Our Lord Jesus IS Ever Ready to Share His MERCY with us, ALL of us....All we Need Do....ASK Him.

What I Hear The Holy Spirit zeroing me in on this morning is God's Steadfast LOVE and His Faithfulness.....Using the magnifying glass of our ACRONYM (FOCUS)....this brings into 'view' that God's Steadfast LOVE and Faithfulness hinge on HIS FOCUS towards us.

And HIS FOCUS rests firmly on This One TRUTH.....

As I am Pondering His Story this morning, I am once again blown away by the Reality of His Truth that He Freely Shares with us on Every Page of His WORD to us.

Isaiah 45:3 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."(And God Said to Isaiah)....'I Will Give you The Treasures of Darkness And The Hoards In Secret Places, That you May Know That It Is I, The Lord, The God of Israel, WHO Call you By your name."....

YAYAA-G is Calling us, each of us, by our name to Come To Him as our Loving God and Heavenly Father.

And that's just one example...

 Isaiah 43:1-2 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."BUT Now Thus Says The Lord, HE WHO Created you, O Jacob, HE WHO Formed you, O Israel: 'Fear NOT, For I Have Redeemed you; I Have Called you By name, you Are MINE.  When you pass through the waters, I Will Be With you; And through the rivers, they Shall NOT overwhelm you; When you Walk through fire you Shall NOT be burned, AND the flame Shall NOT consume you."....

Thank You Lord!

Now, don't hear what I am not saying - Not saying at all that I'm going to put to the test His Saving Grace by striving to 'pass through the waters' or 'walk through the fire'....BUT what I am Hearing From The Holy Spirit is His WORD of Encouragement that The God of All Creation knows our name, knows us personally, and HE Is Engaged in our daily lives, each and every step of the way.

In a word....OUTSTANDING!

My Prayer for us today would be - O Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father God, Indeed, Lord, You and You Alone Are God and we Praise You.  Thank You for Your Amazing and Saving Grace, Lord Jesus.  Holy Spirit, Help us Ever To Share Your Awesome Caring of us in all Your Ways.  Father God, Open our Inner Eyes to See as You Ever Work In, Around and Through us for Your Glory and Your Kingdom.  Lord Jesus May we Be a Walking Reflection of You, and May You Draw those who Do Not Know You as Lord and Savior to You.  In Your Precious Name we Lift Up our Prayers.....Amen/Amen....jaj

As we read through God's WORD - time and again we see the pattern repeated (beginning with Adam/Eve, carried through, as witnessed in our Lord Jesus' Seven Letters to the Seven Churches mentioned in Revelation (2:1-3:22)).....The Holy Spirit describes this pattern in His Inspired WORD to Asaph (The Psalmist) in Psalm 81:11-12 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)....“BUT My people Did NOT Listen to MY Voice; Israel Would NOT Submit to ME.  So I Gave them over to their stubborn hearts, to follow their own counsels."....and further in Psalm 82:5 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)....“They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken."

Yep, we get lost in our distractions and sin, walking in our own way...Until at last, sometimes when we've hit as low as we can possibly go.....

Psalm 81:7 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."IN distress you CALLED, AND I DELIVERED you; I Answered you In The Secret Place of Thunder; I Tested you At The Waters of Meribah. Selah"....  

Praise our Lord Jesus....He STILL Stands Ready to Hear our Distress Call and Deliver us from our own caused destruction.....

THAT is a WORD of Encouragement and Hope!

I am Thankful that God The Father has Answered the Prayer of Psalm 80:19 - He Has Restored us.  How?  He has Restored us by His GRACE, demonstrated by His Son, our Lord Jesus' Sacrifice and Resurrection.  He has further Restored us by His Sending His Holy Spirit to LIVE Within us.  And as always, I am Thankful Because God The Father Validates and Corroborates His Promise by both Actual Example (see above Matthew 4:11), as well as Promise (see Matthew 26:53) - for in Revelation Chapter 19, we see full well the Hosts of Heaven will be Riding with Jesus, The Returning/Triumphant King of kings....my gut tells me the number will be well OVER 12 Legions.....

No wonder, as Psalm 77:3 states, when we Remember This Fact and Truth, the Reality of This Concept is literally overwhelming!

Shazam!  That's about all I can handle, Team.  So, just Ponder/Meditate for a Moment THAT The Creator of ALL Life Knows and Cares for us, individually - He Even KNOWS us by name, and Has Placed our name in the Hollow of His Hand....HIS Son was His Payment for our sins.....HIS Spirit is His Guarantee of His Love for us....

Ok....bear with me for just another second.....As you read through the 'expanded version' pick-up-with-me what The Holy Spirit's pointing out to us.  I know I for one have 'felt' what Asaph the Psalmist is Hearing The Holy Spirit Inspired him to record.  I know I've 'envied' those whom appeared to have rejected God and His WORD, yet they seemed perfectly content and doing well in life.  I too have heard the evil one's whisper of, "So Jeff, what's the big deal?  IF THEY prosper by being carnal, or material, or of the world - why shouldn't you have what they have?"

BUT, Praise God, THEN He Turns On His LIGHT.....in the last four POWS....

"Those who are far From YOU will perish; YOU destroy all who are unfaithful To YOU.

BUT As For me, It Is GOOD To Be Near God.

I Have Made The Sovereign Lord my REFUGE;

The Key is that it is NOT up to us to compare ourselves to those who've rejected The Lord.  Nor are we their Judge.  BUT, as The Holy Spirit Shares Through these POWS....

BUT As For us, It Is GOOD To Be Near God!

What a Blessing and Encouragement - He is Indeed our REFUGE.  As that Reality of His LIGHT Shining for us hits home, the Result Is I DO want to Tell of ALL His Deeds in my own Life AND in All I see Him Doing all Around us.

Thus, my Prayer for us today would be a Paraphrase of Prayer and Praise from His Holy Spirit's Inspired WORD as Recorded in Psalm 119:18-21, 24 (ESV/emphasis & paraphrase added/jaj)....O Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father God, we Come Before You in a state of Worship and Praise.  Lord Jesus, Open our Inner Eyes, That we May Behold All the Wondrous Concepts Contained In Your WORD.  Holy Spirit, Be With us, as we are Sojourner on this earth.  Father God, Teach us and Do Not hide Your Commandments from us!  O Lord Jesus, our Souls Are Consumed With Longing For Your Presence and Your Guidance At All Times.  Holy Spirit, Because of their rejecting You, You Rebuke the insolent, accursed ones, who wander From Your Righteous and Holy Commandments. Father God, Your Testimonies Found In Your WORD Are our Delight.  Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your Teaching and Your Holy Spirit's Presence Within us, They Are our Counselors.  May we Ever Reflect Your LIGHT Within us.  Help us, Lord, to Be Your Ambassadors of LIGHT to a world so Desperate to See.  In Your Name, Lord Jesus, we Raise our Prayers and Praise....Amen and Amen....jaj

If you've never had a chance to spend much time in the Book of Psalms - I would highly encourage you to consider.  There's 150 Psalms - so, if you only did 1/day, that would carry you 150 days.  Just a thought.....

As I read through Psalm 73 today, what I Heard The Holy Spirit Saying was both how amazing and refreshing to our Soul it is to see Asaph (one of King David's 'Worship/Song' Leaders) Share The Holy Spirit's Inspired Revelation to him (Asaph) the difference between mankind without God in their lives AND Mankind With God Engaged (as well as Asaph's 'feelings' as he is momentarily in the middle of the two).

Which leads me to what I am Thankful for this morning - I am Thankful (even though at times I do take on the role of judge/jury and executioner) that God Is The Ultimate Righteous Judge!  When we read through Psalm 73, how easy we fall pray to the dangers of pride, arrogance, evil concepts, callous heart, doubt and disbelief of God's LIGHT (Life In God's HOPE and TRUTH).  I am Thankful that His GRACE is GREATER than any of mankind's concept without God.  I am Thankful He Provides His Narrow-Way Back to Him and His Goodness.

I am Thankful He's Left The Eternal LIGHT on for us.

My Prayer of Thanks for us today would simply be - Thank You Lord Jesus for Being God The Father's Eternal LIGHT for us.  Holy Spirit, Thank You for Your Patience in Guiding us, the wayward sheep we can be.  Father God, we Praise and Worship You.  We Thank You for Your WORD that Teaches us Your Way.  May we Ever Reflect Your Love and Mercy in our Words, Thoughts and Deeds.  In Your Name, Lord Jesus, we Lift Up our Prayers....Amen and Amen....jaj

I will be the first to admit this Passage Of the WORD Select {POWS} (Psalm 71:17-18) stings slightly as I have looked in the mirror of late the 'old age and gray hairs' are becoming more apparent.  :)

That said, though, what I Hear The Holy Spirit Sharing with me (on the Positive Side) from these POWS is His Encouragement to Stay The Course on the Work He's Doing via PJP2s.

Now, don't hear what I'm NOT saying - NOT saying at all that we've been contemplating stopping PJP2....Nope, PJP2 is a part of my READ! habit and I honestly would continue to do the PJP2 "7 PRAISES" publication even if I didn't post them.  This is a part of my journaling efforts.

BUT (Behold the Underlying TRUTH) - I am ever Refreshed When The Holy Spirit Places a set of POWS that Speak to that portion inside of me that's also Pondering, "Am I really Hearing what I think I'm Hearing from Him?"

And when I utter that Prayer (be it verbally or mentally).....Here's the Type of POWS The Spirit Shares.....

I've always been fascinated by the role of the Town Crier (TTC).  Long before the days of our instant messenger, TXT, and all the other array of social-media/connectivity gizmos, TTC was the means of getting the word out about an event, a proclamation, a new law, or edict of the government, a new policy, or the latest fire-sale....

John The Baptist (JB) was God's TTC!  We see in Matthew 3:3 that was JB's Primary Mission to be God's TTC for Yeshua (Jesus) following soon behind JB's Proclamation.

That got me to pondering even more.....

Here's what our Lord Jesus Shared with His disciples (and in honesty with us, His disciples today).....

Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."And Jesus Came And Said to them, 'All Authority in heaven and on earth Has Been Given to Me.  GO Therefore And Make disciples of ALL nations, Baptizing them In The Name of The Father And of The Son And of The Holy Spirit, Teaching them To Observe ALL That I Have Commanded you.  And BEHOLD, I Am With you Always, To The End of the age.'”

PJP2 PROLOG POST 160819 - Psalm 62:1-2 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."For God Alone my Soul Waits In Silence; From Him Comes my Salvation. He Alone Is my ROCK And my Salvation, my Fortress; I Shall NOT be greatly shaken."....

NW/TIME - No Worries....TRUST In ME....

As I pondered NW/TIME today,  The Holy Spirit Graced my thoughts with the Passages Of the WORD in the PJP2 Series 160819.  Looking back over them, His Focus was on the TIME aspect.  That got me to thinking, always a dangerous proposition at the least.....IF our TIME is secure, then in reality we have 'no worries'.

Hmmmm.....

And isn't TIME the one resource we often seem NOT to have enough of?  Yet, God The Father, in His Infinite Wisdom, only Gave us 24-hours in a day to deal with.  He wisely prevented us (though we love to write tales and tell stories of 'time travel') from doing just that - we can only LIVE in The Present.  I mean think about it for just a second.....IF we had more that 24-hours in a day.....would that be a Blessing, or a curse?

I also noticed, though, that in the six proceeding PJP2s 160819, the NW (No Worries) part didn't come to play until the PJP2 PROLOG 160819....again lending vitality to this Notion I'm Hearing The Holy Spirit Share....IF we GIVE our TIME Fully to Him.....Then our TIME is Secure and in reality there's No Worries.

Ok, to round this out, let me Share our Lord Jesus' WORD in regards to the NW portion.....

Matthew 6:25-34 (ESV) “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."....

My Prayer for us today would simply be....O Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father God, Thank You for Your Love, Light and Grace.  Lord Jesus, we Surrender our TIME Fully to You.  Holy Spirit, Strengthen our TRUST In You that we may Walk In Confidence in Your Way.  Father God, we Know You Are Taking Care of us in Every Way we truly Need.  Lord Jesus, May we Ever Be In Tune With You in all our days.  We Pray our Prayers in Your Holy Name....Amen and Amen....jaj
