OILS: Only In (the) Lord's Steps & Service

My Daily Reading Plan of God's WORD currently has me in Exodus.  I'm in the midst of YAHWEH's Guidance to Moses (and the children of Israel) in developing God's Tabernacle, and all the contents (The Ark of The Testimony/Covenant; The Table of The Showbread; The Lampstands; etc).  One of the Items that always captures my compounding-pharmacist attention is that of The Holy Anointing Oil.....

Exodus 37:29 (ESV)...."He (Bezalel) made The Holy Anointing Oil also, and the pure fragrant incense, blended as by the perfumer."....

Hmmmm....interesting.  As we see throughout God's WORD, God Employed Oil as a means of Consecration/Sanctification....For example.....

Genesis 28:16-18 (ESV)...."Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, 'Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.'  And he was afraid and said, 'How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.'  So early in the morning Jacob took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up for a pillar and poured OIL on the top of it."

Exodus 29:7 (ESV)...."(God's Direction to Moses)....'You shall take the anointing oil and pour it on his head and anoint him.'"....

Luke 7:46 (ESV)...."(Jesus Said to him)....'You did not Anoint my head with OIL, But she has Anointed my feet with ointment.'"

So, as I have been Pondering This, clearly God's making a Point about His Involvement with Anointing His children.

In addition, let's Look At His Holy Spirit's Inspired Prophecy via Isaiah in regards to our Lord Jesus, God The Father's Son and Messiah....

Isaiah 61:1-4 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."The Spirit Of The Lord God IS Upon ME, Because The Lord Has Anointed ME To Bring Good News (Gospel) to the poor; HE Has Sent ME To Bind Up the brokenhearted, To Proclaim Liberty to the captives, And The Opening of the prison to those who are bound; To Proclaim The Year Of The Lord's Favor, (GRACE) And The Day Of Vengeance Of our God; To Comfort all who mourn; To Grant to those who mourn in Zion— To Give them A Beautiful Headdress instead of ashes, The OIL Of Gladness instead of mourning, The Garment Of Praise instead of a faint spirit; That They May Be Called Oaks Of Righteousness, The Planting Of The Lord, That HE May Be Glorified.  They Shall Build Up the ancient ruins; they Shall Raise Yp the former devastations; they Shall Repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations."

Our Lord Jesus employed Isaiah 61:1-4 in Luke 4:16-19.  Thus, in essence, Our Lord's Mission Statement.  And, thus, Since our Mission is To Share His Gospel, This POWS becomes a Key Element in what we Are Sharing with Regards to our Lord Jesus and His All-Abiding-Reality of Redemption via His Life, Sacrifice and Resurrection.

His Holy Spirit sums this up best.....

1 Peter 2:21 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."For to This you Have Been Called, Because Christ Also Suffered For you, Leaving you An Example, SO That you Might Follow IN HIS STEPS."....

So Team, Be Encouraged - Our Lord Jesus Goes Before us, IS with us, and His Holy Spirit Empowers and Emboldens us to do just that.  May we Share His Story of Mercy, Love, Light and Grace - Knowing That His WORD does NOT return empty handed.

Our PJP2 SEVEN/170201 Prayer for today is a Paraphrase of Praise, Prayer and Anointing via His Holy Spirit's Inspired WORD as Recorded in Psalm 104:1-2, 14-15, 24, 27, 31, 33 (ESV/emphasis & paraphrase added/jaj)....O Bless the Lord!  Family of The Faith, Join with us and our Souls to Bless our Lord Jesus, His Holy Spirit, and God our Heavenly Father!  O Lord Jesus, You Are our God, and You Are Very Great!  Holy Spirit, we Praise You.  You Are Indeed Clothed With Splendor And Majesty.  Father God, we Are Humbled as You Cover Yourself With Holy LIGHT, as With A Garment, Stretching Out Your Heavens Like A Tent.  Lord Jesus, we Are In Awe, For You Cause The grass to grow.  Holy Spirit, You Are The One Who Ensures There's Feed for our livestock and plants for us to cultivate for food.  Father God, Thank You, for You Bring Forth food from the earth and wine to gladden the heart of man.  Lord Jesus, By Your Grace, You Give us Your Holy Anointing OIL.  You, Lord, Make our faces to Shine In Your LOVE.  Holy Spirit, By Your WORD, we Have Your Bread of Righteousness To Strengthen man's Heart. O Lord God, How Manifold Are Your Works among us!  In Your Wisdom, Lord Jesus, Have You Made All Things.  Holy Spirit, By Your Breath, the earth, Your Creation, Is Full Of Your creatures. Father God, we All Look To You to Give us our Food in due season.  Lord Jesus, May Your Glory Endure Forever!  Father God, May we, O Lord, Rejoice In Your Works!  Holy Spirit, By Your Anointing, we Will Sing To You, O  Lord, As Long As Your Breath of LIFE is in us.  Lord Jesus, we Will Sing Praise To You, O Lord, our God, All The While we Have Being.  In You Holy Name we Raise our Praise and Prayers....AMEN and AMEN....jaj

Remember:  Psalm 23:5 (ESV)...."You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with OIL; my cup overflows."

BONUS:  1 Peter 2:21(ESV)...."For to This you have been Called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an Example, so that you might follow in His steps."....
