As we consider and ponder 2017, one of the Concepts That I Hear The Holy Spirit talking with me about is FEAR vs fear. Looking ahead to the next 364 days of 2017, we could be of a fearful mind set, since we have no idea at what waits around the next bend. For example, today, being my first official day of fully retired, I can assure you there is a bit of anxiety, though I fully Know our Lord and Savior has Team Johnson's Life well in hand.
BUT, after all, don't we want to ever be in control?
It is so easy to say we "Fully Surrender" to Him - Yet, I know my old-self well, and there is ever one little corner, one stronghold of the old-self that strives to wrestle back 'ownership'
Thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus, God The Father, and His Holy Spirit - God understands our challenge....2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."For though we walk in the flesh, we Are Not Waging War according to the flesh. For The Weapons of our Warfare Are NOT of the flesh BUT Have Divine Power To Destroy strongholds. We Destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against The Knowledge Of God, And Take Every thought Captive To OBEY Christ,"....
"The FEAR Of The Lord IS The Beginning Of Knowledge".....FEAR - When we Faithfully Esteem, Adore and Respect our Lord Jesus, TRUSTING Him and Him Alone, Then we Can Seek Him as our Refuge and our Stronghold. Then we Become Open To His Saving GRACE and His Holy Spirit's Power to Cleanse us and Renew us In His LOVE.
Thus, my Prayer for us on This New Year's Day 2017 - O Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father God we Come Before You to Worship and Praise Your Holy Name. Thank You, Lord Jesus, That You, God The Father's King of kings and Lord of lords, You Have Forever Conquered those strongholds of the old-self that linger within us. Holy Spirit, Restore and Renew us as we Surrender Fully to You. Father God, May we Ever Reflect Your Light, and Be Your Reflection to this world that so desperately needs You. In Your Precious Name, Lord Jesus, we Raise our Prayers and Praise....Amen and Amen....jaj
