PJP2 PROLOG POST - 161105 - BASIC - Jeremiah 39:17-18 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."BUT I Will Deliver you On That Day', Declares The Lord, 'And you Shall NOT be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid. For I Will Surely SAVE you, And you Shall NOT fall by the sword, BUT you Shall Have your LIFE As A Prize Of War, BECAUSE you Have Put your TRUST In Me', Declares The Lord.’”.... There it is, the BASIC TRUTH of God's Expectation of us.....TRUST and OBEY. In this POWS from Jeremiah, God The Father is talking about Ebed-Melech, The Cushite (or Ethiopian) that had helped/saved Jeremiah during the last days prior to Jerusalem's falling to the Babylonian Army and King Nebuchadnezzar. This is a powerful Promise and Blessing at a very challenging time. I mean think on this a moment, Ebed-Melech (who according to Jeremiah 38:7 was one of King Zedekiah's palace officials, thus a marked-man by the soon-to-break-through-the-wall Babylonians) was more concerned about the welfare of Jeremiah, God's Prophet who was indeed on the 'outs' with all of Zedekiah's 'buds'. But Ebed-Melech (though The WORD does not Share this with us) felt a stirring in his own inner-spirit that God's Prophet must be protected. We read in Jeremiah 39:1-10 that God's WORD Came True to King Zedekiah et al - The Babylonian Army and King Nebuchadnezzar did capture Jerusalem, captured Zedekiah, slaughtered Zed's sons and Judah's Nobles in front of Zed, and then, oh-by-the-way, put out Zed's eyes to boot. Ugh. Ebed-Melech had to be quaking.....he had to be wondering when the sword was going to fall on him.....Let us Never Forget, our Lord is Faithful and True..... Jeremiah 39:17-18 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."BUT I Will Deliver you On That Day', Declares The Lord, 'And you Shall NOT be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid. So, the BLUF for us....EVEN when the Road Ahead seems dark, dangerous and out-of-control? "Put your TRUST In Me', Declares The Lord." (Jeremiah 39:17-18).... So, for My Prayer for us today, 4 days out from our upcoming U.S. General Elections 2016, permit me to offer up a Paraphrase of Prayer and Praise centered on God's Holy Spirit's Inspired WORD to Solomon as recorded in Proverbs 3:1-8 (ESV/emphasis & paraphrase added/jaj)....O Lord Jesus, Father God, Holy Spirit, as Your Adopted children, Help us to Never Forget Your Teaching. Lord Jesus, Guide us that our Inner Hearts May Keep Your Commandments today and for the length of days and years of LIFE however long that may be. Holy Spirit, Pour Your Peace Upon us as we Walk With You. Father God, Please Let Not Your Steadfast LOVE And Faithfulness Ever forsake us. Lord Jesus, we Surrender to You and Ask That You Bind Your LOVE and GRACE Around us. Holy Spirit, As You Promised, Please Write Your WORD Upon The Tablet Of our Hearts. Father God, Thank You For Your Grace. May Any Good Success we Have in Your Sight, or that of man, Be Reflective of You and Your Presence in our Lives. Lord Jesus, Strengthen and Encourage us to Ever and Always TRUST In You, O Lord, With All our Heart! Holy Spirit, Guide us NOT to lean on our own failing understanding. Father God, Help us, In All our Ways to Acknowledge You. Lord Jesus, we Know that You Will Make Straight our Paths. Holy Spirit, Protect us from ever thinking 'we are wise in our own eyes'. Father God, Teach us and Help us to Understand the Concept of Faithfully giving You all our Esteem, Adoration and Respect. Lord Jesus, Open our Inner-Eyes that we May Turn from all evil. O Lord Your WORD, LOVE, MERCY and GRACE will Ever Bring Healing To our flesh And Refreshment to our bones.
