PJP2 PROLOG POST 160704 - In continuing the theme for today's PJP2s, I heard The Holy Spirit mention to focus today's PJP2 PROLOG POST 160704 on God's Banner.....So....here we go.....

If you type in the word 'banner' in the Bible Gateway Search Engine - using the ESV version as The Word at this moment, you should find that there's nine (9) POWS that come up reflecting the use of the word 'banner'.....I sense The Spirit has led me to employ the five POWS that follow.....

Psalm 60:4-5 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."You Have Set Up A BANNER For those who FEAR You, That they May Flee To IT from the bow.....That Your Beloved ones May Be Delivered, Give Salvation By Your Right Hand And Answer us!"....

Exodus 17:15 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."And Moses built An Altar And Called The Name of It, 'The Lord IS my BANNER',....

Psalm 20:5 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."May we Shout For JOY Over Your Salvation, AND In The NAME of our God Set Up our BANNERS!  May The Lord Fulfill All your Petitions!"....

Song of Solomon 2:4 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."He Brought me To The Banqueting House, AND His BANNER Over me Was LOVE."....

Song of Solomon 6:10 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."Who Is This Who Looks Down Like The Dawn, Beautiful as the moon, Bright as the sun, AWESOME As An Army With BANNERS?”

On this our U.S. Day of Independence, the first Banner that comes to my mind is our U.S. Flag.  As I reflect and ponder on each of the five POWS (Passage Of the WORD Select) above, I still can see our Star-Spangled Banner waving in the breeze.  To think on How our Lord Employs the image of His Banner over us, is indeed Inspiring.

So here's just a Thought for you - Perhaps our Founding Fathers, as they began to consider what The Banner of our United States should look like, just perhaps the Holy Spirit Shared the following POWS as a 'tickler' on what This Banner would mean.....

STARS:  (Psalm 147:4-5 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."He Determines the number of The Stars; He Gives To All of them their Names. Great IS our Lord, And Abundant In Power; His Understanding IS Beyond Measure."....

STRIPES:  (Isaiah 53:5 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."BUT HE Was Pierced for our transgressions; HE Was Crushed for our iniquities; Upon HIM Was The Chastisement THAT Brought us PEACE, AND With HIS Wounds/Stripes we Are HEALED."....

RED:  (1 John 1:7 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."But IF we WALK In The LIGHT, As HE Is In The LIGHT, we Have Fellowship With one another, AND The BLOOD of Jesus His Son Cleanses us From ALL sin."....

WHITE:  (Isaiah 1:18 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."'Come Now, Let us Reason Together', Says The Lord, 'Though your sins Are Like scarlet, they Shall Be As WHITE As Snow; Though they Are RED Like crimson, they Shall Become Like WOOL.'"....

BLUE:  (Exodus 39:1 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."From The BLUE and purple and scarlet yarns they made Finely Woven Garments, For Ministering in The Holy Place.  They made The Holy Garments for Aaron, As The Lord Had Commanded Moses."....

Hmmm....All I can say, Team, now I will have an expanded though of Old Glory, as I see her waving in God's Wind......After all, she is A Grand Old Flag.....

My Prayer for us today on this Independence Day, 4July2016 would be a paraphrase of Prayer and Praise from Psalm 60:4-5, 11-12 (ESV/emphasis & paraphrase added/jaj)....O Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father God, Thank You that You Have Set Up Your Banner Over us.  Holy Spirit, Help us to Be Reflective of Your Call to those who do Not Yet Know You.  Father God, for those of Your Family of Faithfully Exalt and Adore and Respect You, May we Flee To Your Banner, Knowing That Under Your the Flag of Your Son, our Lord Jesus, we Are Save from the bow of the forces of darkness.  Lord Jesus, May Your Beloved ones, The Sheep of Your Pasture Ever Be Delivered from the clutches of sin.  Holy Spirit, May You Continue to Freely Give of God's Plan of Salvation By Your Holy Right Hand.  Father God, Thank You for Hearing our Prayers AND Answering us!  Lord Jesus, Grant us Help Against the foe.  Holy Spirit, Empower and Encourage us to Share Your Truth and Highlight how vain is man's plan of salvation by man's strength!  O Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father God, With You Being Within us, we Shall Do Valiantly Because of You!  It Is YOU, O Lord, Who Will Tread Down our foes.  In Your Holy Name, Lord Jesus, we Raise our Prayers and Praise....Amen/Amen....jaj
