PJP2 PROLOG 160621 PROLOG Focus - 1 Chronicles 14:10, 14, 16-17....

Psalm 108:3 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."I Will Give Thanks To You, O Lord, Among the peoples; I Will Sing Praises To You Among the nations."....

PJP2 PROLOG POST 160621 - 1 Chronicles 14:10, 14, 16-17 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj).... "And David Inquired of God, 'Shall I Go Up against the Philistines?  Will You Give them Into my hand?'  And The Lord Said to him, 'Go Up, AND I Will Give them Into your hand.'....And when David Again Inquired of God, God Said to him, 'You Shall NOT Go Up After them; GO Around And Come against them Opposite The Balsam Trees.'....And David DID As God Commanded him, And they Struck Down the Philistine army from Gibeon to Gezer.  And The Fame of David Went out into all lands, AND The Lord Brought The Fear of him upon all nations."....

Two of the characteristics that The Holy Spirit both Consistently Points out, AND at the same time Reminds me that we too are just like this....(1) WHEN David 'Inquires' (Prays and Seeks Out God's Guidance) AND OBEYS God's Guidance.....David IS ROCKING to 'Victory' or 'Success' BECAUSE of God's Assurance that He HAS Got This!  (2) Conversely, when David does NOT Inquire in regards to God's Will and Guidance AND David clearly DISOBEYS.....Life Does NOT go well (Check out 2 Samuel 11-12).

We see This Truth of our Lord Repeated time and time again throughout God's WORD to us.  I would also suggest, then, that This Principle of our Lord IS Exactly The Same for you and I.

Something to ponder.

On last thought that The Holy Spirit Pinged me with this morning - as we read 1 Chronicles 14:17 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."And The Fame of David Went out into all lands, AND The Lord Brought The Fear of him upon all nations."....

Two thoughts....David's Fame is spreading - now there's no doubt all the nations around Israel have been sharing The Amazing Tale of The Israelite's, since the Days of Exodus, Moses, Joshua, etc.  David's 'rags to riches rise to the throne' is the stuff of Legends!  All of this, though, is ALL Due to ONE SITREP....YAHWEH.....I don't think David gets into hot-water until his fall due to taking his Focus Off God and paying attention to the lady taking a bath on the roof.....He became distracted by his selfishness AND neglected to Inquire Of The Lord.  Another Story for Another PJP2 PROLOG.  The Second Thought in this last bit of Pondering...."The Lord Brought The Fear of him upon all nations"....At first reading, my thought is Via God's Help, all the area nations are fearful of David.  I mean who can fight against a king who's got God's Army marching through the balsam tree-tops to Fight for them?

BUT I would suggest there's an Underlying Meaning here as well.....According to Proverbs 1:7...."The FEAR of The Lord Is The Beginning of Knowledge"....Perhaps God The Father is Instilling The Appropriate Application of FEAR (Faithful Exaltation, Adoration and Respect of Him) as a Witness to those who Do Not Yet Know Him as Lord and Savior.....So, Maybe God Sharing this FEAR via His Work In, Around and Through David is Yet One More Witness that our Lord Is Calling to All to Join Him in His Grace.

Once more....something to Ponder.....

My Prayer for us today would be.....O Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your Presence in our Lives, in each and every way.  Holy Spirit, Open the Eyes of our Hearts that we May See Clearly Your Vector for us.  Father God, we Praise You and Surrender ourselves to You.  We Know, O Lord, That You Are At Work Within, Through and All Around us as well.  O Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father God, May we Ever and Always Seek and Inquire of You, Your Will and Guidance on Every Thought, Word or Action we are engaged in.  Thank You Lord for Your Word.  Thank You Lord for Your Love.  Thank You Lord for Your Grace.  We Lift Up our Prayers in Your Holy Name, Lord Jesus....Amen/Amen....jaj
