PJP2 PROLOG 160619 PROLOG Focus - 1 Chronicles 9:39....

Exodus 15:2-3 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."The Lord IS my Strength And my Song, And He Has Become my Salvation; This Is my God, And I Will Praise Him, my father's God, And I Will Exalt Him. The Lord IS A Warrior!  The Lord IS His NAME."....

PJP2 PROLOG POST 160619 - 1 Chronicles 9:39 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."Ner fathered Kish, Kish fathered Saul, Saul fathered Jonathan, Malchi-shua, Abinadab, and Eshbaal."...

It is indeed interesting that at this time of Fathers' Day 2016 I find my reading Through His Word to be in the beginnings of 1 Chronicles.  If you have never spent much time in Chronicles, it is the recording of the History of God's Chosen children, the 12-Tribes of Israel from the view of the Priests (Levites).

Note:  This in an of itself is interesting since 1-2 Samuel is the view of this History from one of God's Major Prophets, Samuel.  1-2 Kings (thought to have possibly have been The Holy Spirit's Inspired Word to God's Prophet Jeremiah) is the telling of this same History from the view of God's working through His people in both Victory and their self-inflicted defeat due to disobedience.  Isn't it interesting, though, The Lord used a similar approach in His Sharing of our Lord Jesus' GOSPEL....Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all were Inspired by The Holy Spirit to Share our Savior's HiStory from a slightly different perspective.  Just something to ponder...jaj

Chapters 1 through 9, of 1 Chronicles, spends time defining the Genealogies of the 12-Tribes and their descendants.  Today's PJP2 PROLOG POST 160619 focuses on Saul (first King of Israel) and his sons.....

What I Hear The Holy Spirit Sharing today is the Importance of our Heavenly Father, and His Ability to Work Through our earthly fathers, even when that may have been a challenging scenario.

Saul was a challenge, especially for Jonathan.  (King Saul's story runs from 1 Samuel 9:1 through 1 Samuel 31:6).  Yet Jonathan was a loyal son, who died fighting at his father's side on Mount Gilboa.

Clearly through The Holy Spirit's Point, we see that Jonathan may well represent all The Goodness God had Poured into Saul.  Jonathan, King David's closest Ally during their Friendship of Brotherhood, displayed the bench-mark characteristics we'd all hope to find in a Friend.  Jonathan was also probably one of King Saul's most able-bodied Warriors - even taking on a Philistine Army Unit with just Jonathan's armor-bearer as his wingman!  Jonathan must have also been severely torn and conflicted as he watched his father, King Saul, slip slowly ever deeper away from their families commitment to YAHWEH and into his own self-inflicted loss of God's Presence.

Indeed, the connection between Father and Son is one we, as sons, can never forget.

Note 2:  Consider the Perfect Connection, in comparison, between our Lord Jesus and His Heavenly Father - That is Indeed The Connection we All Have Available to us Through our Lord Jesus' Redeeming and Reconciling us to God The Father.

Thus my Prayer for us today would be - O Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father God - Thank You for Your Presence in our Lives.  Lord Jesus, on this Fathers' Day 2016, May we Learn from You, Your Joy of Being In The Presence of Your Father, our Lord and our God.  Holy Spirit, Kindle and Renew Your Fire of Love and Grace in our Hearts.  Father God, Thank You for Your Eternal Love for us Your earthly children.  May we, Lord Jesus, Share Your Truth and WORD Of Salvation to Your lost children who are Longing for You, but may not know that.  We Love You and Praise You.  We Lift Up our Prayers in Your Holy Name....Amen/Amen....jaj
