PJP2 PROLOG 160610 PROLOG Focus - 2 Kings 9:1-4....

Psalm 98:4 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."Make A Joyful Noise To The Lord, All the earth; Break Forth Into Joyous Song And Sing Praises!"....

PJP2 PROLOG POST 160610 - 2 Kings 9:1-4 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."Then Elisha the Prophet Called one of the sons of the Prophets And Said to him, “Tie up your garments, And take this flask of oil in your hand, And Go to Ramoth-gilead.  And when you arrive, Look there for Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi.  And Go In And Have him Rise from among his fellows, And Lead him To An Inner Chamber.  Then take the flask of oil And Pour it on his head And Say, ‘Thus Says The Lord, I Anoint you King over Israel.’  THEN Open the door AND Flee/Run; Do NOT linger.'  So the young man, the servant of the Prophet, Went to Ramoth-gilead."....

I am always thrilled and intrigued by The Holy Spirit's Choice of individuals to Employ to Accomplish God The Father's Will.  I mean, really, one has to see His Trend and Tendency to pick folks that more than likely we would never consider.  For instance in today's PJP2 PROLOG POST 160610 Focus, 2 Kings 9:1-4 - we find two unlikely Players.....(1) The no-name "son of the Prophets" and (2) Jehu Jehosaphatson, to this point simply an apparent Officer in Israel's Army.

Yet, here we find God The Father assigning them both significant missions to carry forward His Will.

Granted 'the son of the Prophets' was a Messenger - deliver God's Word, then RUN!  One has to admire the young man's Obedience, to the letter of Elisha's Instructions on what he was to say and do.  What a great encouragement to us to Do What God's Laid on our Hearts to Do for Him.

Then there's Jehu.

Jehu will play a Key Role in essence being The Sword of God's Vengeance upon both Joram, Ahaziah (wicked kings of Israel and Judah).....AND Jezebel, the wicked wife/queen of the late Ahab.  We'll deal more with Jehu in tomorrow's PROLOG.....for today, though, I Hear The Holy Spirit simply pointing to God's Ability to Employ and Accomplish His Will Working Through the most unexpected ways.

And as you'd expect, I have to mention, isn't this True with His Overall Plan of Redemption?  He Sent His One and Only Son, our Lord Jesus, to us by the most unlikely and unexpected Way - as an Infant Man.  He Walked Among us, Shared our Every Experience, Then Went Well Above and Beyond our expectations, to Sacrifice Himself on His Cross, Paying The Debt of Sin for All mankind, Once and For All.

In a Word....PHENOMENAL!

My Prayer for us today would simply be - Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your Amazing Grace and Sacrifice for us.  Holy Spirit, Open our Inner Eyes that we May See and Respond to Your Work within, around and through us.  Father God, we Are in Awe of You and Your Continued Willingness to Employ The Unexpected to Reveal, time and again, Your Eternal Love For us.  May we, O Lord, Ever Reflect This in our Lives, Especially to those who do Not Yet Know You as Lord and Savior.  Lord Jesus, we Raise our Prayers and Praise in Your Holy Name....Amen/Amen....jaj
