PJP2 PROLOG 160605 PROLOG Focus - 1 Kings 22:29-26....

Psalm 119:7 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."I Will Praise You With An Upright Heart, When I Learn Your Righteous Rules."....

PJP2 PROLOG POST 160605 - 1 Kings 22:29-36 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."So the king of Israel (Ahab) and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead (to battle the king of Syria).  And the king of Israel (Ahab) said to Jehoshaphat, 'I will disguise myself and go into battle, BUT you Wear your Royal Robes.'  And the king of Israel (Ahab) disguised himself and went into battle. Now the king of Syria Had Commanded The Thirty-Two Captains of his chariots, 'Fight with Neither small nor great, BUT Only with the king of Israel.'  And When The Captains of The 32 Chariots Saw Jehoshaphat, they said, 'It Is Surely the king of Israel.'  So they turned to fight against him.  AND Jehoshaphat Cried Out.  AND When The Captains of The 32 Chariots Saw That IT Was NOT the king of Israel, they Turned Back from pursuing him.  BUT a certain man Drew his Bow At Random And Struck the king of Israel Between the scale armor and the breastplate. Therefore Ahab said to the driver of his chariot, “Turn around and carry me out of the battle, for I am wounded.”  And The Battle continued that day, and the king was propped up in his chariot facing the Syrians, Until at evening he died.  And the blood of the wound flowed into the bottom of the chariot. And about sunset a cry went through the army, “Every man to his city, and every man to his country!”....

Wow.....There's so many Points that I Hear The Holy Spirit Sharing, THIS PJP2 PROLOG could easily go on for several pages.....BUT Fear NOT.....Not going to go there.....

There's Three Specifics, though, I Hear Him boiling our discussion down to.....(1) In the Open with God vs Trying to Hide From God; (2) We Reap What We Sow....; (3) God Is In Full Control....Even the Random Arrow.....

In the Open with God vs Trying to Hide From God....Now, it ain't rocket-science....I mean come on...I can't believe King Jehoshaphat fell for the Ahabian ploy - "Hey, Jehoshaphat, you going running around the battlefield dressed in your Mess Dress....I'm going to be decked out in camouflage".... Really?   BUT, Praise God, The Lord Takes Care of His Own!  Which begs the question, did Ahab really think that he could hide from God's Prophecy that Ahab was going to bite the bullet?  Clearly, as we see in these POWS, Ahab should have Repented and Returned to The Ways of David versus following the ways of Jeroboam

We Reap What We Sow....(1) does lead us to (2)....Ahab, as The Holy Spirit Reveals here, was The WORST of the worst of the wicked kings.  His queen, Jezebel was not any better.  Talk about a caustic couple - they were indeed the top-two on the list of The Bible's bad-guys and girls.....I'd almost venture to say the only one ahead of these two would be the evil-one himself.  However Ahab's end is a definitive case in regards to one does Reap what one does Sow.  Ahab had Sown sin, death and destruction throughout his reign.....he clearly Reaped that harvest in his demise.  Note:  Holy Spirit had an interesting insight on this as well.......Galatians 6:6-10 (ESV) "Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith."

God Is In Full Control....Even the Random Arrow.....Perhaps this is where Longfellow got his idea for the famous poem, "The Arrow and The Song"...."I Shot an Arrow into the air"....Anyway, the Point (no pun intended) on this one.....This bowman clearly had no target, just let fly a bolt.  I have to admit (as some of my paintball buds will verify), I have done this before during a paintball match - that is, simply point the marker towards 'the enemy' and let fly rounds down range, with no specific target in mind.....Now, don't hear what I am not saying - not in anyway saying that God's Guiding my paintball plugs to strike home.....BUT I am saying that He Is In Full Control and He Can Employ Even a "Random Arrow" to indeed Make His Final Point.

My Prayer for us today.....O Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father God....Thank You!  We are ever Amazed at Your WORD and the Truth You Share with us.  Lord Jesus, Help us Ever to Always Be Open with You, and to Heed Your Word to us.  Holy Spirit, Guide us to Sow Your Truth, Love and Light.  Father God, May we Harvest With You Your Fruit of The Spirit Within us.  Lord Jesus, May Your "Random Arrows" of Grace, Mercy and Forgiveness Always Make Your Point that You Are The Way to Salvation in God The Father's Plan of Redemption.  O Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father God, May we Always and Ever Reflect You in our Lives.  In Your Name we Pray....Amen/Amen....jaj
