PJP2 PROLOG 160604 PROLOG Focus - 1Kings 17:22-24....

Psalm 56:10-11 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."In God, Whose WORD I Praise, In The Lord, Whose WORD I Praise, In God I TRUST; I Shall Not be afraid.  What can man do to me?"....

PJP2 PROLOG POST 160604 - 1 Kings 17:22-24 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."And The Lord Listened To the voice of Elijah.  And The Life of the child Came Into him Again, And he Revived. And Elijah took the child and brought him down from the upper chamber into the house and delivered him to his mother.  And Elijah said, 'See, your son Lives.'  And the woman said to Elijah, 'Now I Know That you Are a man of God, And That The WORD Of The Lord In your mouth IS TRUTH.'”....

Thought from our perspective of time, it may appear that God The Father's Sense of Urgency is Indeed Not in the same sphere of reality that we humans operate.  Yet, I would contend, In God's Reality, He is Very Much The God of NOW.

Permit me to make this point via His Holy Spirit's Inspired Word recorded in 1 Kings 17-18....Basic Lay of the Land as described in 1 Kings 17....God's Prophet, Elijah the Tishbite, suddenly appears for the first time to confront Ahab Omrison, the newly installed evil/wicked King of Israel.

God's WORD to Ahab, BLUF - No Rain until God Commands Rain to fall.

So five sitreps happen....(1) No Rain falls until 'after a LONG time' (1 Kings 18:1); (2) God Tells Elijah to 'beat feet' out of Samaria and HIDE from Ahab; (3) God Promises Elijah that He Will Take Care of him; (4) Ahab's wicked wife/queen Jezebel starts slaughtering God's Prophets (most likely in retaliation for No Rain); (5) God's Revelation that He IS God is Sudden and Spectacular!

Ok.....so the Point we Find from today's PJP2 PROLOG POST 160604 - 1 Kings 17:22-24....from God's Promise to Take Care of Elijah, Elijah is sent to reside with 'The Widow of Zarephath' and her son during the ensuing famine that sweeps the land due to No Rain.  There's a LOT of God's NOW activities going on.....He Provides The Widow et al with an never-ending supply of flour and oil (interesting since there's No Rain, thus no wheat or olives to produce the flour and oil.....BUT God's The Creator......He's Got This!).....And The Big Now Event is This First Recorded Revival of someone that's died.....It would seem pretty clear that God Revived The Widow's son in a NOW Moment of His Expression of Love, Grace and Power.

I LOVE The Widow's Response..... And the woman said to Elijah, 'Now I Know That you Are a man of God, And That The WORD Of The Lord In your mouth IS TRUTH.'”....

I would certainly Hope that after all she'd Witnessed during Elijah's sojourn with them that her conclusion would be Faith and Belief.

Side-Note:  This incident of Revival seems quite similar to one our Lord Jesus had.....Check-it out....Luke 7:11-17 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."Soon afterward He went to a town called Nain, And His disciples And a great crowd went with Him.  As He drew near to the gate of the town, Behold, a man who had died was being carried out, The Only son of his mother, And she was a widow, and a considerable crowd from the town was with her.  And When The Lord Saw her, He Had Compassion on her And Said to her, 'Do Not weep.'  Then He Came Up And Touched the bier, And the bearers stood still.  And He Said, 'Young man, I Say To you, Arise.'  And the dead man Sat Up And Began to speak, And Jesus Gave him to his mother.  Fear seized them all, and they Glorified God, saying, 'A Great Prophet Has Arisen Among us!' And 'God Has Visited His people!'  And This Report About Him Spread through the whole of Judea and all the surrounding country."....

One interesting difference between Elijah's Revival of The Widow's son, and our Lord Jesus's event - Elijah, as a man of God, Prayed for God The Father's Intervention and Revival.  Our Lord Jesus Being The Man of God as His Son, VFR Direct Commanded The Revival to Occur.

Thus back to The Point The Holy Spirit has Made with me this morning.....Our Lord IS A God of NOW.....even when in our human timeline it may seem He isn't.....He IS.

So, what Action would it Take By our Lord's Work within, around, or through us, to Express with The Widow of Zarephath, or Nain.....Now we Know That you Are The Son of God, And That The WORD Of The Lord In your mouth IS TRUTH?....

Something to ponder.  IF you have already Made That Positive and Good Confession....Outstanding.....IF you have Not.....I Know in my Heart of Hearts that our Lord Jesus Stands Ready and Waiting to Accept you as His Own.

My Prayer for us today would simply be....O Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father God, Thank You so Very Much for Your Loving Mercy and Grace.  Lord Jesus, May we like Elijah, Be Filled with Trust that You Are Ever Providing for us, even in the midst of the most trying of times.  Holy Spirit, Help us to Share Your Word of Truth to those lost in the current times of 'drought'.  Father God, May we Be Your Ambassadors of Revival.  Lord Thank You for Being our Lord and The God of Now.  We Raise our Prayers and Praise, Lord Jesus, In Your Holy Name.....Amen/Amen.
