PJP2 PROLOG 160312 PROLOG Focus - Numbers 36:5-10

2 Samuel 22:4a-c (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."I Call Upon The Lord, Who is Worthy to Be Praised, And I am Saved"....

PJP2 PROLOG POST 160312 - Numbers 36:5-10 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."And Moses Commanded the people of Israel According To The Word of The Lord, saying, 'The tribe of the people of Joseph is right.  This Is What The Lord Commands concerning the daughters of Zelophehad: ‘Let them marry whom they think best, Only they shall marry within the clan of the tribe of their father.  The Inheritance of the people of Israel Shall Not Be Transferred from one tribe to another, for every one of the people of Israel Shall Hold On To The Inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.  And every daughter who possesses An Inheritance in any tribe of the people of Israel shall be wife to one of the clan of the tribe of her father, so that every one of the people of Israel may possess The Inheritance of his fathers.  So No Inheritance Shall Be Transferred from one tribe to another, for each of the tribes of the people of Israel Shall Hold On to its own Inheritance.’” The daughters of Zelophehad Did As The Lord Commanded Moses,"....

We chatted earlier (check back in Numbers Chapter 27) about 'The Zelo Five' Team.  What I Hear The Holy Spirit Sharing with regards to The Zelo Five Part 2 is there Concepts - (a) Clarity of God's Guidance; (b) Importance of God's Gift of Inheritance; (c) Obedience....First, (a) Clarity - it is possible that Numbers 36:5-10 is one driver from where we get the thought of a 'non-transferable' item.  Clearly several times in Numbers 36:5-10, YAHWEH states that The Inheritance, in essence, of God's Gift (in this case their Land) was NOT to be handed off to someone outside of the intended receiver of God's Gift.  Interesting that the Israelites thought through the customary if a daughter marries outside the 'clan' then the hubby now has 'rights' to claim that former inherited land as now part of his clan's holdings.  More on The Inheritance in a moment; The Clarity, though I Hear The Spirit Speaking of is Bottom-Line/Up-Front (BLUF) The Inheritance IS a Reminder of Who God Is in the clan's Life AND His Importance to the clan can NOT be given away to others.  So, makes total sense that God would help the clans grasp and align with His BLUF Intentions of Keeping their True Focus on Him, The Giver of The Gift, NOT The Gift itself.  Then there's (b) The Inheritance - If you were to word search (i.e. Gateway Bible Word Search engine) the word "Inheritance" - The results I found was "Inheritance" is used in The Word 187 times.  Now throughout the Old Testament, the Concept of The Inheritance seemed anchored on The Land the Tribes of Israel had been given post Exodus (and God's Promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the Genesis Account).  Yet, as our Lord Does so Very Well, The Holy Spirit Inspired Paul to write a better understanding of what The Inheritance is All About.....Ephesians 1:11-14 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."In Him we Have Obtained An Inheritance, Having Been Predestined According To The Purpose of Him Who Works All Things According To The Counsel of His Will, So That we who were The First To HOPE In Christ Might Be To The Praise of His Glory.  IN Him you also, When you Heard The Word of Truth, The Gospel of your Salvation, And BELIEVED In Him, Were Sealed With The Promised Holy Spirit, Who Is The Guarantee of our Inheritance until we acquire possession of IT, To The Praise of His Glory.".....How Cool is THAT!?!

Then I dearly Love the ending of Numbers 36:5-10..."The daughters of Zelophehad Did As The Lord Commanded Moses,"....Summed up in a single word (c) OBEDIENCE.  The Zelo Five did not quibble with God's Guidance, they OBEYED.  Thought we do not hear much about the final Outcome with The Zelo Five, I am certain and confident that when we finally arrive to Join The Throng in His Presence, we will get the opportunity to not only Hear of The Zelo Five's Success, we'll get to Meet them and Hear their Witness of God's Loving Grace first hand.  BLUF for us, as the old Gospel Hymn sings, "Trust and Obey....there is no other Way....to be Happy In Jesus....than to Trust and Obey".....

My Prayer for us today would be - Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your Loving Mercy and Grace.  Holy Spirit, Open our Minds to Grasp The Clarity of Your Word.  Father God, Thank You for The Inheritance You've Given us.  Help us, Lord Jesus, to Understand that Your Inheritance is non-transferable, Given as Your Gift to us for All Eternity.  Holy Spirit, Strengthen us to Fully OBEY Your Word and Truth in every aspect of our Lives.  Father God, Continue to Lead us during our time here on earth.  O Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Father God, we Do Long For Your Day When You Finally either Return To Reclaim Your Kingdom here on earth, or You Call us Home to Be With You There.  We Raise our Prayers of Praise and Petition in Your Holy Name....Amen and Amen/jaj
