PJP2 THANKS TEXT 160215 - James 4:1-10 (NIV/emphasis added/jaj)...."What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You desire But do not have, so you kill. You covet But you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You Do Not Have Because you Do Not Ask God. When you Ask, you Do Not Receive, Because you Ask With wrong motives, That you may spend what you get on your pleasures. You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture Says without reason that He Jealously Longs for The Spirit He Has Caused to Dwell in us? BUT He Gives us More GRACE. That Is Why Scripture Says: “God opposes the proud BUT Shows Favor To The humble.” Submit yourselves, Then, To God. Resist the devil, And he will FLEE from you. Come Near To God And He Will Come Near To you. Wash your Hands, you sinners, And Purify your Hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, Mourn And Wail. Change your laughter to Mourning and your joy to Gloom. Humble yourselves Before The Lord, And He Will LIFT you Up."....
So Very Much to Be Thankful for! Let me Share Three Concepts The Holy Spirit is Pointing me toward my Being Thankful today. (1) "BUT He Gives us More GRACE." - How Very Thankful I am for our Lord's Gift of GRACE - God's Redemption At Christ's Expense; I am Thankful that despite our unworthiness, God The Father Continues to Shower His Love, Through His GRACE upon us; (2) "Submit yourselves, Then, to God. RESIST the devil, And he will FLEE from you." - When we read in Matthew Chapter 4:1-11, as The Holy Spirit Reveals to us through our Lord Jesus' Living Example....we find our Lord Jesus doing exactly this during His Temptations in His 40-day Wilderness Experience. Our Lord Jesus Submits to God The Father. And He Not Only RESISTS the evil one, BUT (Behold the Underlying Truth) Jesus Employs God's Word as The Perfect Offense in Defense against 'ol slew foots best shots. (3) "Come Near To God AND He Will Come Near To you"....I am so Very Thankful that our Lord Jesus, His Holy Spirit and God The Father are True to Their Word. Whenever we do set aside our pride and selfishness to approach Him as His Humble child - He Stands Ever-Ready to Embrace us and Welcome us Home to Him.
My Prayer of Thanks for us today is that The Holy Spirit would Guide us to Embrace His Grace for us. O Lord Jesus, Teach us, through Your Example, to Submit to The Father, and to Better Grasp how we Can RESIST the evil one Through You and Your Presence in our Lives. Lastly Father God, Continue to Lead us in Learning How to Draw Near to You. We Lift Up our Prayers in Your Holy Name....Amen/Amen....jaj
