Psalm 45:17 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."I Will Cause Your Name to Be Remembered in all generations; Therefore nations Will Praise You Forever and Ever."....

PJP2 PROLOG POST 160211 - Mark 12:10-11 (NIV/emphasis added/jaj)...."(And Jesus Said)....'Haven’t you Read This Passage of Scripture: "The Stone the builders rejected Has Become The Cornerstone; The Lord Has Done This, And It Is Marvelous in our eyes"?'”....

I know I have shared via prior PJP2 entries that I have a fascination for The ROCK.  This enjoyment of geology started with Pops Johnson.  Pops shared his passion for rocks, and his own connection to The Rock with Sis and I from as long as I can remember.  One Christmas, as a family, we gave Pops one of those 'rock tumblers' for him to make jewelry with.  I would say that was one of his favorite Christmas Gifts from us.  I still have several of the pieces (tie tacks, etc) that he made over the years.  These keepsakes are indeed 'touch stones' for me to ever keep in mind the Lessons of Life John A. Johnson strove to teach me.

So what I Hear The Holy Spirit Saying this morning is that our Lord Jesus is God's 'Touch Stone' for us.  God The Father, though, makes Sure we Understand that His Son, our Lord Jesus, is not just some simple trinket that we can keep in our pocket.  He is not a 'worry stone' that we palm to help reduce our stress.  Nope.  Our Lord Jesus is The Cornerstone, the Key Component of ANY Building.  The Cornerstone IS The Rock upon which the entire Structure stands, regardless of what the building is.  IF The Cornerstone is damaged, or weakened, the Structure will sooner or later fall.

Interesting to note, if you do a word search of "Cornerstone" in the Bible Gateway Search Engine, you find there's 13 Passages Of the Word Select (POWS) that mention Cornerstone.  Our Lord Jesus' is quoting Psalm 118:22 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj) - "The Stone that the builders rejected Has Become The Cornerstone."  Now if you drill a tad deeper and do a word search on ROCK, the results is 142 POWS.  I dearly love 1 Samuel 2:2 (ESV/emphasis added/jaj)...."There is none Holy Like The Lord; For there is none Besides You; There is no ROCK Like our God."....

So let me conclude with asking us the Question our Lord Jesus asked the challenging crew that was 'testing' Him - "Haven’t you Read This Passage of Scripture: "The Stone the builders rejected Has Become The Cornerstone; The Lord Has Done This, And It Is Marvelous in our eyes?"  I would Encourage us to Pause and Ponder His Question.  I would Lift Up in Prayer that His Holy Spirit would Guide us to be able to Answer our Lord Jesus with, "Yes, Lord.  God's Cornerstone is You.  And we Ask You to Be The Cornerstone, our ROCK of our Lives, today and forever."
