PJP2 THANKS 151215 THANKS Focus Jonah 4:1-4....

Psalm 43:3-4 (ESV)/(emphasis added/jaj)...."Send out Your Light and Your Truth; Let Them Lead me;
Let Them Bring me To Your Holy Hill and To Your Dwelling!  Then I Will Go To The Altar of God, To God my Exceeding Joy, and I Will Praise You with the lyre, O God, my God."....

PJP2 THANKS TEXT 151215 - Jonah 4:1-4 (ESV)/(emphasis added/jaj)....{Jonah's Anger and The Lord's Compassion}...."But it (God's Relenting and  Saving Nineveh) displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was angry.  And he prayed to The Lord and said, 'O Lord, is Not This What I said When I was Yet in my country?  That is Why I made haste to flee to Tarshish; for I Knew That You Are A Gracious God And Merciful, Slow To Anger And Abounding in Steadfast Love, And Relenting from disaster.  Therefore Now, O Lord, Please take my Life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live.'  And the Lord said, 'Do you do well to be angry?'"....

I am so Thankful that we Serve a Lord and Savior Who we can be Totally Honest with.  Here we see Jonah, who I have heard dubbed, "The Pitiful Prophet" railing against YAHWEH, even though Jonah couches his complaint in his Knowing God The Father is "A Gracious God And Merciful, Slow To Anger And Abounding in Steadfast Love, And Relenting from disaster"....I know well that there's been times when, like Jonah, I've prayed the pitiful prophet's pouty prayer thinking somehow I had been wronged since The Lord did not do what I wanted.

Duh!

As I ponder through Jonah, and The Lessons our Lord is Teaching us regards His Nature and His Love towards us, I Hear The Holy Spirit Calling me to Psalm 139.  I will not cut/paste all 24 verses here - I would recommend its reading.  Let me simply close today's PJP2 THANKS 151215 with these POWS from Psam 139.....(23-24)...."Search me, O God, and Know my Heart!  Try me and Know my Thoughts!  And See If there be any grievous way in me, and Lead me in The Way Everlasting!"....

Blessings to you and yours/jaj
