PJP2 PROLOG 151202 PROLOG Focus Part 2 Daniel 5:22-30 (ESV)....

Daniel 6:26 (ESV)/(emphasis added/jaj)...."I make a decree, that in all my royal dominion people Are To Tremble and Fear Before The God of Daniel, For He Is The Living God, Enduring Forever; His Kingdom Shall Never be destroyed, And His Dominion Shall Be To The End."....

PJP2 PROLOG POST 151202 Part 2 - Daniel 5:22-30 (ESV)/(emphasis added/jaj)...."(And Daniel said).....'And you his son, Belshazzar, have Not Humbled your heart, though you Knew all this, BUT you have lifted up yourself against The Lord of Heaven. And the Vessels of His House have been brought in before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from Them.  And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know, BUT The God in Whose Hand is your breath, and Whose Are All your ways, you have NOT Honored. Then from His Presence The Hand was Sent, And This Writing was Inscribed.  And This Is The Writing that was Inscribed: Mene, Mene, Tekel, and Parsin. This Is The Interpretation of The Matter:

Mene: God has Numbered[b] the days of your kingdom And brought it to an end;

Tekel: You have been Weighed in the balances and Found wanting;

Peres: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.'

Then Belshazzar gave the command, and Daniel was clothed with purple, a chain of gold was put around his neck, and a proclamation was made about him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.  That very night Belshazzar the Chaldean king was killed."

Please, before you decide this is a morbid PJP2 PROLOG POST to deal with, give me a fair shake to bring out The Word of Encouragement.  Yesterday's PJP2 PROLOG 151201 Part 1, The Holy Spirit Shared with us His Focus on King Nebuchadnezzar's fall from God's Grace due to his pride and arrogance.  Yet, The Spirit also Reflected God's Forgiveness once King N came to his senses and realized that YAHWEH is Indeed The King of kings, Lord of lords and His Sovereignty is Above All.  In today's PJP2 PROLOG POST 151202, we see that King N's son Belshazzar (King B) obviously did NOT heed the Lessons Learned by his dad, King N.  King B blew it big time - he not only was prideful and arrogant, BUT he added insult to injury by flaunting his pride and arrogance in the face of God by desecrating the Holy Vessels from God's Temple (that had been captured with King N destroyed Jerusalem and took Judah et al captive). 

Ok, so, Jeff, Now is a Good Time to bring up Encouragement.

Thanks, here we go - What I Hear The Holy Spirit Sharing is Do NOT BE like King B, meaning be like the Other Two Main Characters in King B's 'reading the writing on the wall' story:  God and Daniel.  We are to strive (by The Holy Spirit's Help) to Be Imitators of God The Father (check out 3 John 1:11).  He is Faithful and True to His Word.  We are to Be Likewise.  We are to Imitate His Good, Love one another and to Follow Him in Faith, in all we do.  Then there is God's Prophet Daniel - A solid Role Model for us to strive to emulate (again by the Help of The Holy Spirit).  Daniel's Prayer Life is simply astounding.  He TRUSTED God in every way.  He was Fearless (as we will discuss tomorrow as we link The Lion's Den to our Lord Jesus' Advents.....).  He was Selfless and Focused on Accomplishing God The Father's Mission. 

Oh, and how do the Characteristics of God and Daniel link into our Lord Jesus?  :)  Well we Know that our Lord Jesus Reflected These Same Characteristics during His Tenure among us.  Also The Holy Spirit, via His Inspired Word to Paul says, (1 Corinthians 11:1)...."Be Imitators of me, AS I am of CHRIST."

Thus my Prayer for us today would simply be two-fold:  First, O Holy Spirit, Help us to avoid the folly of King B.  Father God Forgive us when our arrogance and pride blinds us to Your Truth.  Lord Jesus Lead us away from these pitfalls of our human nature.  Second, Father God Empower and Embolden us to Be Imitators of Your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Holy Spirit may we ever Reflect Your Light of Love and Grace.  Father God Thank You for Your Gift of our Salvation.  Lord Jesus we Worship You and Ask All These Things in Your Holy Name.  Amen/Amen/jaj
