PJP2 PROLOG 151117 PROLOG Focus John 1:14-18....

Psalm 62:1-2 (ESV)/(emphasis added/jaj)....{My Soul Waits for God Alone}...."For God Alone my Soul Waits in Silence; From Him Comes my Salvation.  He Alone Is my Rock and my Salvation, my Fortress; I Shall Not Be greatly shaken."....

PJP2 PROLOG POST 151117 - John 1:14-18 (ESV)/(emphasis added/jaj)...."And The Word Became flesh and dwelt among us, And we have Seen His Glory, Glory as of The Only Son From The Father, Full of Grace and Truth. (John the Baptist bore Witness About Him, and Cried Out, 'This was He of Whom I said, ‘He Who Comes after me Ranks Before me, Because He Was Before me.')  For From His Fullness we have All Received, Grace upon Grace.  For The Law was Given through Moses; Grace and Truth Came Through Jesus Christ.  No one has ever Seen God; The Only God, Who Is at The Father's Side, He Has Made Him Known."

As I Prayed this morning, asking for The Holy Spirit's Guidance on what to post via the PJP2 PROLOG POST 151117, I Heard Him Nudge me towards John 1:14-18.  In light of recent events (- downing of the Russian airliner; - recent suicide bombing in Beirut; - Paris attacks) there simply seems to be an overwhelming 'blanket of darkness' and evil seeping out over our world.  Now, and I have at times I know had 'rose-colored spectacles' in place - I do Know full well there's a LOT of badness all around us.  Yet, Praise God, He is Not Silent or Aloof from us.  In fact, those of the Family of The Faith Know very well that God The Father Sent His One and Only Son, as noted in John 1:14-18, to Live/Walk Among us that He could fully Relate to us as One of us.

Thus the Question I hear The Spirit posing to me this morning is, "What combats darkness?"  A straight-forward question, indeed.  The Lord Provides us His Answer in John 1:4-5 (ESV)/(emphasis added/jaj)...."In Him was Live and The Life was The Light of men.  The Light Shines in the darkness, And the darkness Has NOT overcome It."....

Another Word of Hope would come from Psalm 112:4 (ESV)/(emphasis added/jaj)...."Light Dawns in the darkness for The Upright; He is Gracious, Merciful and Righteous"..,,

And just One More for Good Measure - Matthew 4:16 (ESV)/(emphasis added/jaj)...."the people dwelling in darkness Have Seen a Great Light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them A Light Has Dawned.”....

So, Crew, even though at this time it may seem the darkness is overwhelming the Light, I would simply say, No, that is Not the Case.  God is Still In Control.  He is Standing By His Original Gift to us of Freedom of Choice.  Yet, Praise God, Through His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, He Provides us a Path to Reconciliation with Him, and being able to Return to His Light of Life.

I would leave you with these Two Words of Truth from our Lord Jesus' Word to us as found in John 14:6 and Matthew 11:28 (ESV)/(emphasis added/jaj).... John 14:6...."I Am The Way, and The Truth, and The Life.  No one Comes to The Father Except Through Me."....Matthew 11:28...."Come to Me, All who labor and are weary, And I Will Give you Rest."

My Prayer for us today would be that we Not be afraid of the world's darkness.  Lord Jesus, You are our Light.  Help us to ever first Look to You.  Holy Spirit, Reflect Your Light through us to be a Beacon to those who have not yet Come to You and Your Saving Grace.  Father God, Thank You that even in the midst of these storms, You Are Still Here.  May we ever Rely on You and Your Mercy and Your Grace.  Lord Jesus we Lift Up our Prayers in Your Holy Name.
